1. Who is responsible for your data

The data controller for the app is Artjoms Bocarovs (Daily Mind Balance). Privacy questions and requests may be sent to info@dailymindbalance.com.

2. Information we handle

Account information

When you create an account, Firebase Authentication processes your email address, password credential, display name, Firebase user identifier, account creation time, last sign-in time and email-verification status. We do not receive your plain-text password.

Wellbeing information

We store what you choose to enter in the Mind Balance program: which days you have completed, the before and after tension ratings you give a session, the occasional milestone check-in (how you would rate your stress, sleep, energy and ability to relax), and the practices you save. Nothing here is shared, and none of it is used for analytics or advertising.

Apple Health and Health Connect

Only after you grant platform permission, the app reads today’s step count, so it can show it on your profile. That is the only thing it reads. On iOS, after you finish a Mind Balance session, the app writes the length of that session to Apple Health as mindful minutes; it never reads them back. What is read is used on the device for the feature you can see, and is never sent to our website, to advertising systems or to analytics events. We do not sell Apple Health or Health Connect data, and you can withdraw the permission at any time in your device settings.

News requests

When you read news, our WordPress website receives ordinary web-request information such as IP address, browser/app request data and the requested article.

Analytics

Analytics is switched off until you choose to turn it on. The app asks once, treats no answer as a refusal, and never asks again; you can change the choice at any time under Privacy in the app’s Profile screen, in either direction. Nothing is collected or sent while it is off.

When you do turn it on, we use Firebase Analytics and, when enabled in the release configuration, the Google Analytics Measurement Protocol. These may process a pseudonymous installation identifier, session identifier, platform, screen views, and the URL, title and ID of an article you open. Mind Balance analytics may include program/day/week or achievement identifiers, but not your tension ratings. Google may also process device/app identifiers, IP-derived approximate region and diagnostic request information according to its services.

No measured value ever reaches analytics: not meals, calories, macros, water, weight, steps, mindful minutes, meal photos, your notes, or how you rated a session.

Device-local information

Theme choices, reminder settings, notification schedules and some preferences are kept on your device. Scheduled reminders are delivered locally. They are cleared from the device during the in-app account-deletion flow, but uninstalling or clearing app data may remove them sooner.

Security signals

Firebase App Check and platform services may process app/device integrity tokens and technical request information to protect our backend against abuse. We do not use these signals for advertising.

3. Why we use information

• To create and secure your account and provide requested app features.
• To save and synchronize your Mind Balance information across signed-in sessions.
• To show health context you explicitly permit the app to access.
• To provide news and customer support.
• To understand feature reliability and aggregate engagement, prevent abuse and improve the app.
• To meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.

4. Legal bases for users in the EEA and UK

Depending on the processing, we rely on performance of our agreement with you (providing the account and requested features), your consent or explicit permission (including access to platform health data, and optional analytics, which is collected only after you actively opt in), our legitimate interests in security, service reliability and strictly necessary operations, and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent through the relevant app or device controls without affecting earlier lawful processing.

5. When information is shared

We do not sell personal information. We do not use health, nutrition or Mind Balance information for advertising, data-broker profiling or credit/insurance decisions. Service providers may process data only to provide their contracted services and must protect it appropriately. We may disclose information when legally required or to protect users and the service.

6. International processing

Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use legally recognized transfer safeguards and rely on the safeguards offered by our contracted providers.

7. Retention

Account content remains while your account is active or until you delete individual records or the account. A successful account-deletion flow removes the Firebase account, the user collections described above and uploaded meal photos. Local preferences are removed during in-app deletion. Account-deletion requests are kept while we verify and complete the request and afterwards only as needed for security, dispute resolution or legal obligations. Analytics and server logs are retained according to our configured provider and hosting retention periods and are then deleted or aggregated. Residual copies may remain temporarily in provider backups until their normal overwrite cycle completes.

8. Your choices and rights

• Grant or revoke Apple Health/Health Connect access in device settings.
• Grant or revoke camera, photo-library and notification permissions in device settings.
• View, change or delete records through app features.
• Export the account data stored by us from Profile → Your data → Export your data.
• Delete your account inside the app from Profile → Your data → Delete account.
• After uninstalling the app, request deletion at https://dailymindbalance.com/delete-account/.

Depending on your location, you may also have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, receive a portable copy and complain to your local data-protection authority. Contact us using the address above. We may need to verify your identity.

9. Health-platform controls

Deleting your Daily Mind Balance account does not itself delete records controlled by Apple Health or Health Connect. You can review permissions and delete platform-held health data through Apple Health or Android Health Connect settings. Revoking access stops future access by the app.

10. Security

We use access-controlled Firebase services, per-user authorization rules, HTTPS transport, app-integrity checks and administrative access controls. No system is completely secure; please use a strong, unique password and protect access to your device and email account.

11. Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, or under the higher minimum age required in their country, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information without legally valid parental authorization. If you believe a child has provided information improperly, contact us.

12. Medical disclaimer

Daily Mind Balance supports general wellness, mindfulness and movement. It is not a medical device, does not diagnose or treat conditions and is not a substitute for professional medical advice or emergency services.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when app features, providers or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised effective date and provide additional notice in the app when a change materially affects your rights or how sensitive information is handled.
